We're sure by now you've had a chance to hear about the new government guidelines stating that groups of more than 6 people is prohibited.

This rule does not affect us, and here's why. All our equipment complies with safety distancing between each other. And we ensure all our students' and instructors' safety thanks to these delimited spaces. For us to be considered a group of 6 or more people we'd have to be 6 sharing a piece of equipment within those spaces! This is not a possibility at our studio. So provided all safety distancing measures and the one way path at the studio were followed we would have no problem with this new ruling.

However, we always put our student's needs first, and have therefore decided to keep our reduced class sizes (1 person per piece of equipment) for the foreseeable future.

As always, all decisions are changeable depending on new regulations and how the situation develops. We just like to keep all of you up to date and be open about our decisions and discussions!

If you have any queries, concerns or suggestions do let us know in the comments below or chat to us *LIVE* on our new handy live chat option on our website. Of course you are still welcome to email us at gemstonefitness@hotmail.co.uk or on any of our social media platforms!

New month, new timetable! We recently sent a survey to our students to ask about how they were finding the studio since reopening but also about preferences for lessons. And with all this info we have made up a shiny new timetable for September which you can find on our booking system or down below!

In response to some of the survey answers we have decided to answer a few things too!

-We now have an email subscription you can join on our website to receive newsletters about any updates about the studio and photoshoots, workshops, etc.

-Rent-a-pole and rent-a-hoop have been readded to the timetable with a maximum of one person per hour

-Pole/Hoop dance is still currenlty on hold. However, Ruth has added a one-off Dance & Flow class the 18th September. There are limited spaces so hurry if you want to join in!

-Also just a reminder all membership options and discount codes are indefinitely on hold due to the current Covid-19 situation, we hope you can understand!

Hello!

In case you missed it, we've officially been back at the studio since the 25th July! Since then we've had a lot happen, so why don't I explain it all to you? Grab a seat and buckle up for information influx!

COVID-19 safety measures

COVID-19 information

To ensure the safety of our students and our staff there are a lot of new procedures and rules in place to ensure the best (and safest!) aerial experience. Here's a list of things we've done:

-There's a new Par-Q and Covid-19 Waiver form that need to be filled in and signed before attending any lesson

-Our 24-hour cancellation policy remains the same, however we do have a new sickness policy. If a student were to feel ill or show symptoms in the 24 hours before a class, a credit refund will be issued. However, the student is then required to not return to the studio for 14 days, unless they get a Covid-19 test.

-If a student were to feel sick in the days following being in the studio, they MUST let us know as to enable Track&Trace amongst our students and staff.

-If an instructor deems you to show symptoms of Covid-19, you will be turned away from the studio to ensure everyone's health.

-Guests/vistors are no longer allowed in the studio.

-Minimal baggage is required to be brought to class. You are expected to come fully dressed and ready for lesson, with you own grip and phone.

-Class numbers have been reduced to 1 person per piece of equipment until October, at which point (situation dependent) we will return to full capacity.

-Memberships and discount codes have been put on indefinite hold due to the current situation.

-Our hoops are no longer wrapped to ensure all of the equipment can be safely disinfected, therefore ensuring the safety of all students and teachers. We therefore recommend you wear shorts instead of leggings.

-Spotting will be done if requested by the student, however if you do not wish to be touched the instructor will respect that. The exception to this (as per CIMPSA advice) is that if the risk of falling supercedes the risk of Covid-19, you will be spotted to safety.

-There is now a 15 minute gap between lessons during which the instructors will clean and sanitise the studio.

-No forms of touching are allowed between students nor students and instructors (except spotting).

-Before your class you will be asked to remain outside the studio until the instructor allows you inside. You are expected to follow social distancing when outside.

-Once entering the studio, all PPE must be removed.

-Upon entry you will have to sanitise your hands with the hand sanitiser provided (unless allergic)

-After sanitising you will be given your own personal flanel to use throughout the lesson. This flanel must be dropped into the hamper when leaving.

-There is a one way entry and exit system in place in the studio.

-Use of the changing rooms has been indefinitely prohibited.

-All equipment has been moved (if necessary) to compy with safety distancing.

Phew! That was a long list! Of course these measures are always been checked and rechecked to make sure we're doing the best we can and following Government guidelines. Do you feel like we've missed anything? Comment below or email us to let us know at gemstonefitness@hotmail.co.uk
